Mental Health Awareness Week 2019
Our Mental Health Champions from Accrington Academy have been supporting Mental Health Awareness week. The theme of this year’s event was centred around body image. Many young people are insecure about the way they look and feel about their bodies, which can lead on to mental health problems without the correct support.
With 50% of mental health problems being established by the age of 14, it is important to reinforce positive mental health and wellbeing through offering young people the support that they need. Our Mental Health Champions have been raising mental health awareness around their school, offering peer support, providing drop in sessions and promoting positive mental health messages.
