Annual Charity Ball 2024
This year, we held the ball in memory of our former Chair, Tony Dobson who sadly passed away during the pandemic. As we were in full lockdown at the time, we hadn’t had a proper opportunity to say goodbye and to celebrate his life. Tony was the most amazing man, who made a real difference to the lives of so many people here in Hyndburn. He truly dedicated his life to the service of the whole of our community.
The event was a sell out and we had a fantastic night at Accrington Stanley’s 1968 Lounge. After a fabulous 3 course meal, it was time for the raffle, with generous donations from a wide range of local businesses and a very special ‘booby prize’ of a hamper made up of some dubious prizes (something that Tony was well known and loved for) put together by one of our organisers, Nick Whittaker who was a close friend of Tony’s. We had some outstanding lots in the auction, such as VIP tickets for Peter Kay, kindly donated by LS Studios, a dinner for 2 at Northcote Manor. There was lots of fun and games throughout the night and we danced until the early hours.
Thanks to everyone who joined us for our fundraising ball in memory of Tony Dobson. It was an amazing night, and your support blew us away, with a total of £6800 raised on the night.
We’re not sure how we’re going to top that, but watch out for news of next year’s ball soon.
