As part of the planning for the Long-Term Plans for Towns funding, a focus group of young people visited the market hall in May to see the plans for the revamp.
The young people will be working with us on behalf of the Town Centre Partnership Board to find out what they would like to see in the town centre in the future and also to co-produce a Young People’s Plan for Hyndburn. The event focused on safety and security. We held a follow up meeting with them at the end of June to start thinking about what a youth space might look like and what services and activities they would like to see in the area in the future. At our next meeting, we’ll be putting a questionnaire together to go out to young people across Hyndburn so that we can collect as many suggestions and opinions as possible to make sure that young people have somewhere that they can access a range of activities and services that is accessible and safe.
